There continue to be far too many accidents on construction sites. One of the 4 keys to effective prevention is UV protection. Secret Agent Jeremy goes to great lengths on the job site to uncover valuable protection tips.

Aims and objectives

Armed with his special glasses, he learns that taking the right precautions can help prevent skin cancer:
o Minimize exposure to UV rays as much as possible.
o Seek shade when possible.
o Adjust work hours to avoid peak sun exposure.
o Protect your face and neck.
o Cover your body as much as possible.
o Apply sunscreen with an appropriate sun protection factor.
o Shield your eyes from UV radiation.
Each year UV radiation causes around 1,000 cases of skin cancer in workers.
Outdoor workers are exposed to up to twice as much UV radiation compared to their leisure and vacation time combined.
The best way to protect oneself from UV rays during the height of summer is by wearing appropriate clothing, along with a head covering featuring a front visor and neck guard.
