Product description
Recycling companies segregate materials by type and then press them into bales. Accidents occurring while working on channel baling presses are frequently fatal. If an employee falls into the press shaft and is no longer able to stop the pressing process him or herself, mechanical safety systems such as ripcords are only effective in the rarest cases. The U-Tech personal protection system has been designed especially for use on conveyor belts and presses. Based on RFID technology, this system automatically shuts down the machinery as soon as an employee enters a previously defined danger area. Therefore, the employee must wear one of the special U-Tech transponders on the body.
Aims and objectives
In many industries, people have to work hand-in-hand with machines. Far too often, accidents at work result in serious or even fatal injuries. To avoid this, the U-Tech PRESS personal protection system in conjunction with a transponder worn by the employee, causes the machinery to shut down as soon as he or she enters the hazardous area. It was certified in 2015 by the IFA, the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, in accordance with the European standards DIN EN 61496-1 and DIN EN ISO 13849-1 and became the industry standard in Europe. Meanwhile, we are developing a new, flexible system to cover the increasing demands of other industries, for example, mixing and laboratory roller mills.
