Eiffage Infrastructures has signed a partnership agreement with Nice-based start-up Borobo, to develop a collaborative load-carrying robot for its various business lines. The aim is to provide robotic assistance to operators to alleviate the constraints resulting from moving and carrying common loads (tools, small equipment, small materials, etc.) whose unit weight does not exceed a few dozen kilos. This type of manual handling is generally not mechanized. However, over the course of a working day, an operator can move several hundred kilos. This type of manual handling is not usually mechanized. And yet, over the course of a working day, an operator can move several hundred kilos. This type of routine handling is not only unpleasant for operators, but also time-consuming. The use of load-bearing robot technology helps prevent the onset of lumbar pathologies and musculoskeletal disorders. Thanks to the robot, the operator is exposed to fewer constraints and risks. It retains its expertise and develops its core technical know-how, acquiring new skills by mastering this type of technology. The robot can be used in 3 operating modes: manual piloting with an intuitive joystick (or via a mobile application); collaborative use with an intelligent human morphology recognition system; or autonomous navigation with 5 cm geolocation accuracy. It can be used to transport loads weighing less than 70 kg in a variety of environments, ranging from fitted platforms, to moving on natural ground outdoors, and even managing vertical circulations such as certain staircases or steep slopes thanks to a patented polymorphic wheel device.
Ziel und Zweck
Reduction of the constraints linked to the carrying and moving of usual loads - Prevention of the appearance of lumbar pathologies and TMS - Improvement of working conditions - Improvement of the maintenance of traffic lanes on production sites - Demonstration by example that the construction sector integrates new technologies - Demonstration of the company's capacity for innovation.
