With millions rapping to the tunes of Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Eminem, we (Draeger Safety India) decided to give it a try albeit the safety way! We wrote a song - not too long, composed the beat-in the summer heat and rolled up our sleeves in the hinterlands of Durgapur in West Bengal to shoot the rap video in just about 8 hours! With no professional actors, we turned our very own Dräger members, National Safety Council dignitaries, customers, channel partners and visitors into rappers. And the results have been very encouraging.
Aims and objectives
The Mission Suraksha (‘Suraksha’ is a Hindi word that means ‘Protection’) safety rap aims to explain the importance of safety in daily plant operations using an entertaining medium of music. In order to connect with the young, educated and well informed Indian workforce we decided to delve further and create a rap song carrying the messages of precaution, prevention, protection and escape.
