Title translated into English

Working with ladders? This is the way to go!

Film: Duration in minutes

04.33 minutes

Product description

The training film uses work examples from everyday life to illustrate how to correctly use step and single ladders and to raise awareness among ladder users to apply safer alternatives. The folded leaflet Who answers with Yes twelve times? Using step and single ladders safely (available in German, French and Italian) (https://www.suva.ch/leitern) provides a brief overview and serves as a reminder.

Aims and objectives

The first question ladder users should ask themselves is if a portable ladder is actually the correct working tool or if podium steps, mobile scaffolds or an aerial work platform would be a better choice. The second question is: Is the ladder suitable? What type of ladder should I use and how do I use it properly?

Portable ladders are handy working tools. They are usually quickly available and easy to set up. But often they are not the safest work equipment. The risk is too high if the work to be performed takes some time, if the fall height exceeds three meters or if the ladder is damaged or used incorrectly.

Target audience

Superiors, instructors, safety delegates and employees who use portable ladders.
