Aims and objectives
Empowering young workers to trust their instincts and listen to their gut. When they feel their work activities or workplace is unsafe they should talk to their employer about it. Key Messages
• Listen to your gut. If something doesn’t feel safe at work, talk to your boss.
• Everyone has the right to a safe and healthy workplace. Talk to your boss if something doesn’t feel safe.
• How to talk to your boss about safety. Speaking up shows that you respect your workplace, so always ask if you are not clear about doing something in a safe manner.
• You know your rights, listen to your gut and speak up
The Listen To Your Gut campaign was launched to reduce injuries and fatalities among young workers 18 to 24 years. The focus continues to be the education of young workers on their rights and responsibilities in the workplace:
•Right to refuse unsafe work
•Encourage young workers to speak about to their boss when they see something at work that appears to be unsafe
