This short, high impact awareness film is the centerpiece of a communication campaign, named ‘Belt Up or Get Out’, rolled out by Saipem, based primarily around promoting the use of safety belts and supporting drivers in demanding that seat belts are fastened before departing. In the short movie, the viewer is faced to the possible consequences of discarding the use of safety belt, in order to understand that everybody always has the responsibility to intervene whenever non-compliance is observed. The clip was also made available externally trough the LHS Foundation, a no-profit organization created by Saipem in order to contribute to the raise of safety culture both in Industry and society.
Objetivos y metas
In the unfortunate event of a road traffic collision, a fastened safety belt highly increases our chance to survive. This video aims to remind everyone not only that we need to always fasten seatbelts when inside a moving vehicle - even for a short trip - but also that we are empowered to demand people around us to do the same. Moreover, it aims to share the message that we need to avoid any possible distraction when driving, especially the use of mobile phones, because we are all responsible for safety and a negligent behavior can result in tragic consequences and loss of life.
In 2018, Saipem experienced the loss of four employees of a subcontractor in a road traffic accident. Following this tragic incident, the company decided to release a ‘Safe Driving Campaign’, designed to raise awareness on the importance of adopting and maintaining safe driving behaviors as both a driver and a passenger. This video is among the tools produced to support the campaign, launched by a message of the CEO himself to the employees. The rollout of the campaign was carried out in 2019, and it has already showed important evidence of its positive influence on the workforce.
Davide Scotti, Head of HSE Culture, Communication & Training at Saipem and General Secretary of LHS Foundation will personally attend the World Congress in Toronto and is available to present the project. He was one of the winners at the Prevention Media Festival in Frankfurt in 2014 with the film “What Comes First”.
