In compliance with Law 1562 of 2012, the Ministry of Labor and the National Institute of Health have achieved, since 2016, a research agenda on priority lines in occupational safety and health. In this regard, the project "Design of a strategy for intervention in the risks inherent in the working conditions of the agricultural subsector" was formulated, with the aim of addressing the hazards that are associated with the country's farmers and growers.

In the first phase, more than 3,000 kilometers throughout the department of Boyacá were covered, visiting different production units that include: cape gooseberry, potato, blackberry, strawberry, onion, and tomato crops, among others.
