“Mr. Safety – Safe Electrical Work in Switch Room” is an interesting film. Mr. Safety plays the leading role in the story of the film. The story of the film features an electrical accident happened in the switch room. The senarios of the accident case are simulated in 3D animation with full description of physical environment, equipment and work behaviours of workers. Mr. Safety takes prompt actions to unfold the underlying causes of the accident. Corrective measures to prevent recurrence and safe working practice to promote electrical work safety are the keys to highlight at the end of the film.

Objectif et finalité

This film aims to introduce the educational information in electrical work safety through the accident case analysis. The scenario is described to unfold the underlying causes of the accident. The film is on the educational approach to prevent recurrence of electrical accidents. The message of the film is to promote best practice of electrical work safety, and to learn the best precautionary measures in order to create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

As one of the leading organizations in the region for ensuring all individuals would operate in working conditions that are free of risk and hazards, The Occupational Safety & Health Council in Hong Kong works in partnership with government, employers, employees, professionals and academics through a wide range of quality services, striving to create impact on key areas including safety education for the young; safety training for the working population and building of safety culture and awareness at community level. To accomplish this mandate, we produced this film for promotion of electrical work safety. The use of film not only helps trade workers visualize the scenarios more easily, it also serves the purpose of attracting and encouraging the general public of different ages, especially the younger population in learning and understanding occupational safety and health after watching the film.
