Descripción del producto

WISOM - The Digital Library of Traffic-Related Knowledge for Occupational Safety & Prevention (www.wisom.de) is a modern, digital and cross-institutional platform, created through the initiative and in collaboration with the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV), the Institute for Work and Health of the DGUV (IAG) and the German Road Safety Council (DVR). In order to significantly and sustainably reduce the dramatically high number of accidents on the roads each year, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV), the Institute for Work and Health of the DGUV (IAG) and the German Road Safety Council (DVR) have jointly developed a novel platform, Knowledge Database of Organizational Mobility (WISOM). This specifically supports the prevention work of the statutory accident insurance institutions and the social accident insurance institutions by making in-depth specialist knowledge and best-practice solution-oriented approaches from the broad field of road safety work available. WISOM - The Digital Library of Traffic-Related Knowledge for Occupational Safety & Prevention is publicly accessible under the domain www.wisom.de. Experts in the fields of occupational safety, health protection and prevention from the environment of the statutory accident insurance and the DVR and its members can register on the website free of charge for access to the full scope of use. All the specialist articles are available as files for direct download, so that registered users can read them directly in the digital library and download them for use in their professional activities. The convenient search for terms in full texts, as well as a variety of other intuitively usable filter and search options, enable users to conduct highly efficient and targeted research. The scope of specialist articles, such as study and project reports, magazine articles, evaluations, scientific (final) papers and lectures, is constantly being expanded. The contributions are compiled from specialist events, current projects and information collections of the DVR and its members, from all accident insurance institutions, various universities and research institutes.

Objetivos y metas

The knowledge portal is aimed in particular at prevention specialists, supervisors, and prevention managers and safety experts. The aim is to provide even greater support for the prevention work of the statutory accident insurance institutions and the social accident insurance institutions in reducing in the long term occupational accidents in the road traffic. WISOM sees itself as a crucial component of the accident insurance institutions' overall social prevention mandate under the paradigm of Vision Zero in the world of work, because "Knowledge creates safety!". WISOM offers comprehensive best-practice specialist articles and sound scientific background information for the prevention work of the statutory accident insurance institutions (accident insurance funds and employers' liability insurance associations). The focus is on the topics of road safety and mobility as regards the workplace and school. WISOM makes relevant information, new findings, and innovative ideas on numerous aspects of road safety work accessible, so that together they can design safer routes to work and school. Thus, for the first time, the digital library bundles this specific expertise in one place. The aim is to provide long-term professional support to practitioners, focusing on reducing accidents during work and school commutes and business trips.
