Inhalt
In this film we meet Deni Jordan, a wellknown Danish stunt coordinator, as a cleaning assistant losing his balance whilst vacuuming the stairs at a school. After the accident he gets up, not as a cleaning assistant anymore, but as the stunt man Deni Jordan, and tells us how he works with safety inspections and prevention.
Ziel und Zweck
Promoting safety and prevention as “masculine” practices associated with good work, in particular the implementation of a “safety first”-policy, the use of safety inspections and the registration of nearby accidents.
The need of role models. The film is inspired by the MARS-project, a research-study at the University of Aalborg from 2014, focusing on the correlation between masculinity, safety and occupational injuries in Denmark. The study found - among other things - that: - “traditional masculinity ideals increase men’s propensity to ignore safety rules and to fail to report neglect”, that, - it “is not irrelevant who issues new safety measures and the legitimacy of the message may suffer if the issuer is not seen as sufficiently masculine”, and that - environments “where knowledge sharing about safety and mistakes are [sic] seen as a masculine practice that, e.g., improves your skills, should be promoted.” http://erdusikkermand.dk/userfiles/Slutrapport_MARS_inkl%20bilag_okt2014.pdf
Zielgruppe
Employers, members of safety organisations, and employees - mainly men.
