AUGENBLICKE - Ein Film zur Geschichte der AUVA

Title translated into English

MOMENTS - A Film on the History of the AUVA

Film: Duration in minutes

21:17 minutes

Product description

A historical review of the history of the Austrian institution AUVA - the Allgemeine Unfallversicherungsanstalt: It was a long and sometimes rough way to achieve the present standards - because the times were by no means easy: world wars, economic crises, depression, radical upheavals in the working and working life, as well as constant new orientations, driven by rapid technological progress. But the view of the people in the working world could always be kept. AUVA was founded in the times of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The lawyer Franz Kafka, who was later to become a world literary figure, was an employee in the Prague branch of AUVA. His story is similar to the one of the founder of modern accident surgery, Prof. Lorenz Böhler. The film shows more than 125 years of world events in an international context. This also makes it clear that questions about social protection in Europe and America were completely different.

Aims and objectives

A historical retrospective of accident insurance in Austria - the origin and development of the AUVA institution over more than 125 years - combined with parallel insights into the events of world history.

Target audience

General public, international and regional events, decision-makers from business and politics, medium for school teaching, internal communication in the institutions of the social insurance funds
